where to hit the sack, while you're in sac

ba-dum-tshh

First and foremost, you may want to book a room at our actual venue for the night of the wedding.  The Ryde Hotel is 45 minutes outside of Sacramento, so it would be most convenient to stumble up to your room at the end of the night, rather than drive back to your hotel in Sac.

As for any nights prior to or post wedding, here are a few good options.

Option(s) #1: Fun & Fancy

The Citizen Hotel is "downtown Sacramento's only luxury boutique hotel."  This puts you right in the center of downtown.  From here you can walk to The Crescent Club, where we're having drinks on Friday (don't walk alone; downtown has good blocks and bad blocks, like most cities)and you're a five minute drive/taxi from our house, where we'll be BBQing on Sunday.  Rooms at the citizen start at $169 per night.

The Amber House is a quant bed and breakfast in the heart of midtown.  Here you're about fifteen blocks from our house and just five or six blocks from my shop, Cuffs.  There are plenty of bars, restaurants and coffee houses in the vicinity.  Rooms also start at $169.

Option(s) #2: Fun & Budget Friendly

The Greens Hotel is Sacramento's "acclaimed eco-friendly boutique hotel."  This is a really fun spot, but the general consensus among Sacramentans (who care) is that it should be in midtown rather than in Del Paso Heights.  You will definitely need to drive or take a taxi to get to where you'll want to be.  Rooms here start at $69 per night.

The Sacramento Hostel is in a much better location, central downtown (very near The Citizen) and is of course super affordable.  While it is located in a beautifully restored 19th century Victorian mansion, you should expect a hostel-like experience, should you choose to stay here.

Eileen, Johnno's mum, stayed here for several days during her visit last summer, and had quite a pleasant experience.  Rooms start at $29 per night (shared, although I believe they have a few private rooms too).

Option(s) #3: Budget Friendly & Basic

These might be your best options if you're looking for a comfortable, convenient stay at a reasonable price. (That's what the chains do best I guess!)

The Clarion Mansion Inn is in a great location, downtown, directly across the street from Sacramento's historical Governors Mansion. It has a bar and a pool and you know, it's a Clarion.  Rooms start at $79 per night.

Along these lines, there's also a Holiday Inn and a Best Western.

Registry Information

Our official invitations have finally gone out so you should receive one very soon, if you haven't already.

I want to direct you to our registries here, in case you have trouble finding them based on the information on the invitation.

We're fairly well equipped with household items, so we don't have a huge list of that sort, but there are a few things we thought we could use.  You can find that list here:

We opted to use this site because it allowed us to pull from any online source and we wanted to be able to register with smaller businesses, like Etsy sellers and home goods boutiques.  If you find that an item is no longer available (common on Etsy), let us know and we'll try to replace it with a similar item.

We've also registered at Honeyfund.com, which allows you to help us make the most of our honeymoon.  We've booked a two week trip to Vietnam, a destination we've both wanted to visited for quite some time. We're excited!  Here's the direct link to that page:

Of course we'll appreciate any and all gifts, but please don't feel obligated.  We're happy just to have all of our friends and family in one place!
